We are looking for a Manufacturing Technology Manager to be based from our clients site in Northlake, Illinois.
This is a newly created role, within a newly created business division of this global Chemicals manufacturer. The new division will focus on Robotics and Automation within the Northlake facility, with scope to manage similar projects and implementations over the next two years
 
In this role you will have scope to immediately hire two direct reports. You will also play a crucial part in optimizing our manufacturing processes through the strategic implementation and management of advanced robotics and automation technologies.
 
Key Responsibilities include:
Process Optimization: Analyze manufacturing systems and workflows, identifying areas for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Technology Implementation: Lead the implementation and integration of new equipment and technologies, ensuring smooth transitions and maximizing their impact.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor automated systems (remotely and in-person) to proactively identify and troubleshoot performance issues, minimizing downtime.
Team Leadership: Manage and develop a high-performing team of technicians to provide 24/7 support for all automated systems.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean methodologies and 5S, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Project Management: Support project managers and engineers on robotics and automation projects, providing technical expertise.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and best practices, including PSM principles, PSSR, PHA, and JHA.
 
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on robotics, automation, and process optimization.
• Proven experience in cost engineering and Lean manufacturing tools (e.g., VSM).
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, and PLC Systems and Architecture.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing and supervisory roles is a plus.

Salary up to $140,000 plus 10% bonus and corporate benefits (6% match 401k).
